In life, there are people who call themselves CHRISTIANS but choose the people whom they will call FRIENDS; and there are people who aren't "CHRISTIANS" but welcomes everyone to be their FRIEND.
These are the things that confuses me sometimes, and make me wonder if I am in the right circle of friends or not. These are the things that disappoints me and makes me wonder, is getting their friendship really that important to me or not?
I have had issues about making friends before, I have been choosy with people I want to be friends with. I tend to stick with people who are like me, who likes the things that I like, who do the things that I do, and who hates the people I hate. But that didn't make me find who Christ really is.
When I was young, I felt how it is to be an OUTCAST, and hurt a lot. It felt like I'm a leper. With that I became an angry person.
When I grew up, I made sure I will let some people feel what I felt when I was young. But surprisingly, it hurt even more. With that I began to seek the meaning of FRIENDSHIP.
I believe that some CHRISTIANS would not be-friend a person who cusses, who smokes, who cheats, who does bad things, because they believe that they would be like them if they would stick with them.
"Do not associate with a man given to anger;
Or go with a hot-tempered man,
Or you will learn his ways
And find a snare for yourself."
Proverbs 22:24-25 New American Standard
But is that being a real CHRISTIAN? Would you just stay away from them because they are BAD? Or would you do something to help them see the LIGHT and be LIKE YOU if you believe that you are a CHRISTIAN?
Christ be-friended even the "DIRTY" people. HE did not choose who to be with, who to stay with, who to eat with. WHY???? Because HE believes that everyone has a chance to CHANGE. He believe that He should not sit there do nothing to SAVE their SOULS. He believe that everyone is a FRIEND and not just a friend, everyone is a FAMILY.
So I am asking now, would you not do anything to those people who cuss, or cheat, or live with vices to help them see the light?
Isn't it better to be friends with them and try showing our faith to them and show them how to live like Christ instead of walking away from them or not doing anything to experience the life that Jesus lived?
Let us live our faith that others may see the light. Let us not be stingy of our friendship that others may learn the true meaning of it. Let us welcome sinners into our lives not to follow their lead but to help them seek REPENTANCE.
In Mark 2:15-17
- 15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
I believe that we profess our FAITH in one GOD. This are the works of JESUS, let us not bend his teachings and let us follow HIS lead.
Let us give each other the gift of FRIENDSHIP.
